Credit Education Week is a nation-wide event. It came about to provide people with opportunities to tap into the wealth of credit counselling resources that are available.

The goal is to empower individuals to be better able to navigate their personal finances; allowing them to make better decisions and achieve their personal goals.

In recognition of Credit Education Week, Credit Counselling Service of Sault Ste. Marie & District in cooperation with the Sault Ste. Marie Public Library will be hosting a Lunch and Learn session on Friday, Nov. 16, 2018 in the Program Room at the Centennial (Main) Branch of the Sault Ste. Marie Public Library.

The hour long session will run from 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. The theme for the talk will be ‘Money Mindfulness’ and we will touch on the following topics:

  • Money Management and how to stay on track
  • Goal setting and getting what you want without debt
  • Why people use credit and how to break the cycle

This is a free event that includes a small lunch. Each participant will leave with information packages to help them build a solid financial future.

A recent study shows Canadians report feeling more in debt than ever with 47  of us citing money worries as their number one stressor.

The 12th annual Credit Education Week aims to give you the tools to set financial goals and reach those goals. Please RSVP to (705) 254-1424, as space is limited.  For more information on Credit Education Week please visit: www.cewc.com
