The decorated rain barrel that was hand-painted in 2014 by St. Mary's College art student Miranda Sandvik is being donated by Clean North to a fundraising silent auction for the benefit of Sault Ste. Marie's insectarium Entomica.

The barrel will be on display at the Mill Market for the duration of the auction which will close at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29.

Bids can be made in person at the Mill Market during market hours or by contacting Entomica ([email protected]). The current highest bid for the barrel will be posted on the Entomica website and Facebook page.

Clean North assembles rain barrels from recycled 220 litre plastic barrels which were originally used to ship food products to Canada from Europe. Undecorated barrels can be purchased from Clean North for $80 each. For more information, please contact Clean North.
