Liberty Tax in Sault Ste Marie donated $3,000 today to the Sault Ste Marie Community Soup Kitchen.

The locally owned and operated franchise has prided themselves on giving back directly to the community they are involved in. This means they buy locally whenever possible, work with Community Living Algoma, and donate locally.

Every year since they opened, all of their locations have sold miniature stuffed mascots for $5 with all proceeds going to the Soup Kitchen.

The result is usually a few hundred dollars being donated. This year was no different with owners, Angel Farrar and Melissa Unetic, wanting to do more for the community to help those in need.

The leafy proceeds over the last two tax seasons resulted in what would have been a $485 donation. Instead they decided, not only to match it, but exceed the donation amount and give $3,000.

The Soup Kitchen does a lot of good work in the community and continues to do so every day even with all the obstacles of the pandemic.

Your local Liberty Tax would like to thank everyone who participated in buying a Leafy over the last few years and all of our loyal customers for their continued support. Stay safe, stay healthy, stay home.
