Sir James Dunn athletics is ready for another high school sports season and will begin try outs next week. Junior and senior football try-outs begin Monday Aug. 29, with the juniors beginning at 10:00 am and the seniors gathering at 6:00 pm.

The Soo Select Baseball Association, a division of the Soo Minor Baseball Association, is now excepting coaching applications for the 2006 Baseball season. Applications can be found online at www.sooball.com in the "SELECT" portion of the website.

Tyler Binkley of the Soo Midget Black Sox of Soo Select Baseball Association won the Gold Medal game with Team Ontario at the Canada Cup Baseball Tournament in Medicine Hat, Alberta on the weekend.

It hasn't been a good year for Athlete's Foot in the Permiere League this season. Heading into Monday night's clash with the Under-17 boys Civics, Athlete's Foot held down a disappointing 1-13-1 record through 15 games.

The Sault Steelers saw their Northern Football Conference title hopes fade away on Saturday night as they dropped a 14-0 decision to the Tri-City Outlaws at Rocky DiPietro field.
