A weekend split closed out the regular season for the Soo North Stars, who finished in second place in the Great North Midget Hockey League. After beating the Valley East Cobras 5-3 on Saturday, the North Stars lost 3-1 to Sudbury Lockerby on Sunday.

HOUNDS OVERCOME STORM

GUELPH -- Soo Greyhounds scored on two of five third period shots on Guelph goalie Andrew Penner to overcome the Storm 5-4 before 2,842 fans here Thursday. The win for the Hounds was their second straight on the road.
