The stretch drive in the High School Football League begins tonight as teams are fighting for both playoff spots and playoff position.

Algoma University College and Sault College renewed their men’s basketball rivalry on Wednesday night at the George Leach Centre and made things very interesting for this season.

The Sault Wildcats Midget AA squad split two games on the weekend against North Bay. The Wildcats shut out North Bay 4-0 in their first meeting but were handed a 3-2 loss in the second game of the series.

The U.S. All-Stars, made up of former Lake Superior State University players including Kevin Weber who played for Sault College in the late 90's, claimed the Cougar Classic Basketball Tournament.

The Soo North Stars captured two more Great North Midget League road wins over the weekend to improve to 8-0 on the season. On Saturday, the North Stars outshot Kirkland Lake 56-23 in a 6-0 win before scoring an 8-2 victory over New Liskeard.

The Sault Major Hockey Association dropped the puck on their Bantam AA season on Friday with a pair of games. In the opener, Brenden Carson scored twice to lead the S&T Lightning to a 6-4 win over the Pino's Titans. T.J.
