HOUNDS LOSE ANOTHER

The Greyhounds' winless skid continued Sunday night at Memorial Gardens with a 7-4 defeat at the hands of the Kingston Frontenacs.

SUDBURY -- It was a three-point weekend here for the Soo North Stars, who picked up a win and a tie over the Sudbury Valley East Cobras in Great North Midget Hockey League action.

SUDBURY -- The Sault's White Pines Wolverines and the North Bay West Ferris Trojans played their collective hearts out in the championship game of the College Notre-Dame senior girls high school basketball tournament held here Saturday night.

The Greyhounds, reeling with a record of 1-5-1, got the good news they were looking for earlier this weekend when the NHL Dallas Stars returned 19-year old defenceman Trevor Daley to the Soo.

The Soo Greyhounds went into last night's contest with the London Knights looking to snap a 5-game winless skid that has seen the team drop to last place in the OHL's West Division.

PERFECT WEEK FOR WHITE PINES GIRLS

The White Pines Wolverines completed a perfect week in senior girls high school basketball on Thursday with a spine-tingling 34-32 win over the Korah Colts. White Pines is now 2-2 after losing its first two games of the season.

HOUNDS LACK SPIRIT IN LOSS

There was plenty of Spirit at Sault Memorial Gardens on Wednesday night but most of it came from Saginaw.

SAINTS STILL PERFECT

The St. Basil Saints are still in first place in the senior division of the girls high school basketball league following play on Tuesday. The Saints got 12 points from Katie Hamilton en route to a 56-37 win over the Bawating Braves.

SAINTS MARCHING INTO THE KNIGHT?

The regular season in the senior girls high school basketball league begins tonight. St. Basil and St. Mary's are expected to finish 1-2 but every spot after that would appear to be up for grabs.

KNIGHTS POWER PAST WHITE PINES

The St. Mary's Knights' high-powered offence cut a dominating path in a 34-18 high school football senior division win over the White Pines Wolverines Saturday afternoon at Rocky DiPietro Field.
