BIASUCCI BEATS BATTALION

Joey Biasucci made 27 saves against his former team in leading the Soo Greyhounds to a 3-1 road win over the Brampton Battalion in Ontario Hockey League action Sunday afternoon.

HOUNDS LOSE ANOTHER

The losing continued for the Soo Greyhounds Saturday night, the latest being a 5-3 setback to the Bulls in Belleville. Mike Melinko had a pair of goals for the Hounds and defenceman Trevor Daley added the other.

JR. HOUNDS WIN SHOWDOWN WITH SKYHAWKS

It was a showdown of the NOJHL's top two teams in the standings. The Soo Jr. Greyhounds were left standing as they moved three points ahead of the second-place North Bay Skyhawks with a 6-3 victory last night at Memorial Gardens in Sault Ste. Marie.

JR. HOUNDS WIN SIXTH STRAIGHT

The Soo Jr. Greyhounds assured themselves that they would be in first place heading into their matchup tonight with the North Bay Skyhawks. The Jr. Hounds did so with a 6-1 victory over the Abitibi Eskimos last night at Memorial Gardens.

THREE-WAY TIE IN GIRLS HOOPS

There's a three-way tie for the fourth-and-final playoff spot in the senior girls high school basketball league. White Pines, Korah and Mount St. Joseph all completed the regular season with 4-8 records and will decide fourth place next week.

RAINVILLE LEADS JR. HOUNDS

Jeff Rainville continued his assault on NOJHL goaltenders Wednesday night at Memorial Gardens with a three goal, two assist performance as the Soo Junior Greyhounds beat the Blind River Beavers 13-2.

Amanda Evans scored 15 points as the White Pines Wolverines avoided elimination and forced a tie-breaker for the fourth-and-final playoff spot in the senior girls high school basketball league with a clutch 37-30 win over the home court Mount St.
