It's been an up and down season for George Wilson but on Monday night, the late model driver looked unbeatable in the feature race at Laird International Raceway.

Wilson, the 2002 track champion in the now defunct Super Stock division, blew away the 11 car field in cruising to the late model feature win by nearly three-quarters the length of the track.

The victory was Wilson's first feature win since the second week of the season. Wilson also opened the night by setting a new track record in qualifying with a lap time of 14. 917 seconds, which broke Dennis Varcoe's record of 14. 938 set a week earlier.

Rick Ellis won his first races since the season's opening week by claiming both heat races. Prince Township's Dave Archibald won the fast car dash over Wilson, Michael Gold, who made his first appearance of the season, and points leader Rob Hiiemaa.

Jason Praysner had an impressive run in the factory stock division feature by running from the back to the front in winning the 20-lap feature. Chuck Fawcett won the opening heat while Kevin Pace won his first of the year in the second heat.

Praysner and points leader David Slingsby continue their battle for first. Unofficially, Slingsby, who finished second in the feature, retains a one-point lead after Monday's action. Twelve cars lined up on Monday including defending champion Parker Brockelbank from Echo Bay, who hasn't raced since week one.

In the pure stock division, Ray Golladay, from Cottage Park, Michigan, won the feature and first heat while points leader Barry Glenn from the Michigan Sault won the second heat.

Darren McGonegal was awarded the stock four-feature victory after Matt Huber, who crossed the finish line in first, was disqualified for the second consecutive week after tech inspections for using aluminium rims. Scott Syrette won the first heat and Jeremy Van Hoek won the second heat.

Official results and point standings updates can be found at www.lairdraceway.com when the results become official.

Racing continues with the regular program on Thursday night with racing beginning at 7 p.m. and qualifying at 6:15 p.m.
