White Pines senior team wins boys basketball championship

Junior team is taken down by St. Marys at the Eric Nystedt Memorial Basketball Championship

In a barn burner of a senior final game of the Eric Nystedt Memorial Basketball Tournament, Logan Whitmell put White Pines ahead with 1.5 seconds to go. 

After a time out, Lasalle earned a three-pointer up that would fall short.

The final score was White Pines 56 and Lasalle (Sudbury) 54

High scorers for the senior final game were (Lasalle) Liam Lapierre  with 27 points and Brennan Lapierre with 9, as well as (White Pines) Chase Peplow 13, Logan Whitmell 10, Ben Pierce 10

In the Junior Championship Final game, White Pines finished with 31 points and St. Marys took it with 60.

The high scorers that game were (White Pines) Sam Smith 13, Adam Gibson 6 and (St. Mary's) Jacob Brown 14, Chris Viotto 11.

Chris Viotto was also awarded Junior Tournament MVP.
