Winter weather in northern Ontario forced a pair of postponements in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League on Sunday.

One of the games included Sunday’s scheduled meeting between the Espanola Express and Soo Thunderbirds at the John Rhodes Community Centre.

Sunday’s game between the Soo (Mich.) Eagles and Rayside-Balfour Canadians in Chelmsford was also postponed.

In a release, the league office cited the charter bus companies that were slated to bring the Eagles and Express to their destinations cancelled all their trips due to potentially severe weather in the area.

The games are slated to be rescheduled and the makeup dates will be announced once finalized.

The Thunderbirds return to action on Tuesday night at home against the Blind River Beavers. Puck drop at the John Rhodes Community Centre is set for 7 p.m.
