The city’s best took to the court on Thursday with city titles on the line.
Sault Ste. Marie’s girls high school volleyball league saw Korah pick up the senior title while St. Mary’s won the junior title in the league’s final four tournament Thursday at Superior Heights.
In senior action, Korah beat Superior Heights in four sets, 25-19, 27-29, 25-16, 26-24, in the title game. The win means Korah will represent Sault Ste. Marie in North Bay next weekend at the AA Northern Ontario Secondary School Association (NOSSA) tournament.
St. Mary’s will represent the Sault locally in the AAA NOSSA tournament, which will be hosted by Superior Heights, while White Pines will travel to Elliot Lake for the A NOSSA tournament in senior volleyball.
Superior Heights won the regular season title at the senior level.
In Thursday’s junior tournament, St. Mary’s beat Superior Heights in straight sets, 25-19 and 25-21, to win the title.
St. Mary’s will play in the AAA NOSSA tournament locally while Superior Heights will be in North Bay to play in the AA NOSSA tournament.
St. Mary’s shared the regular season title with Korah.
