VIDEO: This is what local players are missing about hockey

Greyhounds, Thunderbirds, and local players give messages of encouragement

With all organized sports shut down due to COVID-19, many athletes are missing the spirit of competition. SooToday received the following note from Soo Pee Wee Hockey League president Nicole Clouthier:

As we all know hockey is a huge part of the culture of Canada and the Soo is no different. This hockey season, the players at the Pee Wee (and all over the world) had their season cut short, not getting to play in the playoffs or have year end parties or banquets.  We know that they are all missing the game so we made a little video with some messages of encouragement.

I asked them to send in a picture of themselves with a message of what they miss and/or love about hockey. I thought if they knew that it was not only them who were missing the game, but players who play at higher levels also, they would feel a little better with the unknown of when hockey may start again. Putting a little smile in their and their parents faces was the goal, and we hope it did.
