The Soo Thunderbirds have added a pair of local players to the mix ahead of the 2020-21 Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League season.

Signing with the club are a pair of local players in Kaden Dundas and Parker Morgan.

Morgan, a 20-year-old forward, is coming off his second season with Sault College.

In 28 games with the Cougars in 2019-20, Morgan scored six goals and 20 points for a Sault College team that was in the midst of a successful season at the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division II level before COVID-19 forced an early end to the season.

In his first season with Sault College, Morgan had eight goals and 14 points in 23 games at the Division III level.

Prior to joining Sault College, Morgan spent two seasons with the Great North Midget League’s Soo Jr. Greyhounds.

Dundas, a 2003 birth year defenceman, spent the last two seasons playing high school hockey with the Korah Colts locally.

The signings continue a busy stretch as the Thunderbirds roster takes shape ahead of the new season.

Earlier this week, the team traded for 19-year-old defenceman Cameron Dutkiewicz in a deal with the CCHL2’s Renfrew Timberwolves.

Earlier this month, the team acquired Sault product Caleb Wood from the Soo (Mich.) Eagles.

Throughout the summer, the team also inked a number of other local products, including 16-year-old defenceman Connor Toms and 18-year-old forwards Michael Chaffay and Ty Zachary.

All three spent last season with the Jr. Greyhounds.
