The Soo Thunderbirds have dealt forward Mackenzie Walkington.

On Thursday, the Thunderbirds dealt Walkington to the Melville Millionaires of the Saskatchewan Junior League.

Walkington joined the Thunderbirds early in the 2019-20 season after starting the season with the Manitoba League’s Neepawa Natives.

In 46 games with the Thunderbirds, Walkington scored 15 times and had 30 points in his lone season with the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League club.

The trade sees the Thunderbirds receive future considerations in the deal.

In other Thunderbirds news, the team announced on Wednesday that a prospect camp that was scheduled to begin on Friday at the John Rhodes Community Centre has been cancelled.

A new date for the camp was not announced.
