Brad Jacobs and his team from Soo Curlers is heading back to the Tim Horton’s Brier.
After heading directly to the final at the Northern Ontario playdowns in Kenora, Ont. thanks to a perfect 7-0 round robin record, Jacobs, along with third Ryan Fry, second E.J. Harnden and lead Ryan Harnden, picked up a 7-4 win in nine ends over Al Hackner of the Fort William Curling Club in Sunday’s final.
Jacobs sealed the win by scoring a pair in the ninth end after Hackner scored a pair in the seventh end to cut the Jacobs lead to 5-4.
The Tim Horton’s Brier begins on Feb. 28 in Calgary, Alta. Jacobs will open the event in the first draw against Team Quebec, skipped by Jean-Michel Menard.
