SUPER BATTLE AT LAIRD RACEWAY

George Wilson and Rob Sartini continue a wild battle for the Super Stock points title. Once again Thursday night, the two were one and two at the finish line during the third evening of action at the Laird International Raceway.

George Wilson and Rob Sartini continue a wild battle for the Super Stock points title. Once again Thursday night, the two were one and two at the finish line during the third evening of action at the Laird International Raceway.

Heading into the races, Sartini, with 107 points, led Wilson by 11 in the LIR drivers points standings. But for the second consecutive week, Wilson won the feature race to move up the standings with Sartini following close behind.

In the heat races, Cory Furkey won the opener while Dave Archibald won the second.

The surprise of the night was the racing of Shawn Ritchie in the late model division. Heading into the race, Ritchie had a measly 15 points while leader Rick Leonard has 111 in his bag. Ritchie, who is not a serious race car driver, cruised to victory in thefeature and both heat races. Leonard though, did gain points by finishing second in the feature.

In factory stock, Rick Mariotti claiming a victory in the feature race while the four heats races were won by John Haynes, Jason Praysner and Parker Brocklebank, who won twice.

Norm Miller was the feature winner in the pure stack division while also winning one of the heat races. Ray Golladay was also a heat winner.

The four-cylinder division made its debut at Laird and Corey Diotte won the feature and a heat race. Randy Hache won the other heat race.

Action continues next Thursday night at Laird with racing beginning at 7 p.m. sharp.
