Steelers set to open playoffs on the road

With a 4-4 record, the Sault Steelers will head on the road next week as the Northern Football Conference playoffs open up.

The Steelers are set to face the Steel City Patriots next weekend at Cardinal Newman High School in Stoney Creek after wrapping up the NFC regular season on the road on Saturday night.

The Steelers blanked the North Bay Bulldogs 29-0 Saturday in North Bay to cap off the regular season.

The Bulldogs finished the regular season with an 0-8 record and miss the playoffs.

The other first round matchups will see the GTA All Stars (7-1) host the Tri-City Outlaws (1-7), the Sarnia Imperials (6-2) will host the Oakville Longhorns (2-6) and the Sudbury Spartans (5-3) will host the Ottawa Sooners (5-3).
