The final road game of the regular season wasn’t very kind to the Sault Steelers Saturday.

The Steelers dropped a 33-8 decision in Sudbury against the Spartans on Saturday night in Northern Football Conference action.

The Steelers lone score came thanks to a Justin Dubreuil touchdown catch in the final seconds of the opening half.

Alonzo Clarke, who threw the touchdown pass to Dub ran the ball in for the two-point convert.

Clarke took over at quarterback in the second quarter when starter Ron Kelly was ejected from the game.

Scott Smith had a pair of touchdowns for the Spartans, which included a short run in the opening quarter and a 66-yard run in the fourth.

Spartans quarterback Travis Campbell threw for a pair of touchdowns, hooking up with James Howatt in the opening quarter and Ryan Stanford in the second quarter.

Josh Cuomo also had a rushing touchdown, running the ball in from three-yards out in the late stages of the contest.

The Steelers record falls to 1-6 while Sudbury improves to 3-4 heading into the final week of the season.

The Steelers wrap up the regular season on July 30 against the GTA All Stars at Rocky DiPietro Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
