STEEL CITY TOURNEY STARTS THURSDAY

The 22nd annual Steel City Hockey Tournament will be played out from Thursday through Sunday of this week. Games will be played at both John Rhodes Community Centre rinks, Memorial Gardens, McMeeken Centre, Pee Wee Arena and Rankin Arena.

The 22nd annual Steel City Hockey Tournament will be played out from Thursday through Sunday of this week. Games will be played at both John Rhodes Community Centre rinks, Memorial Gardens, McMeeken Centre, Pee Wee Arena and Rankin Arena. Midget and bantam BB teams from the Sault, Blind River, Elliot Lake, North Bay, Thessalon, Thunder Bay and Wawa as well as ones from Michigan will compete. Thirty-nine out-of-town entries will join the Sault teams. Tournament headquarters will be the Rhodes Centre. Schedules and information will be posted there. Admission prices range from $12 for a weekend pass to $7 day passes. Local midget teams include Sports Gold, Scholars Learning Centre, Lock City Dairies, Mr. Sub, Littner Park, Stitch King, Assante Investments and Algoma Vets. Local bantam teams include Sports Gold, Sutton Group, Lamon Printing, Algoma Office, Family Chef, Moose Lodge, Systems International and Moose Lodge.
