Eight youth from the Soo Finnish Nordic Ski Club braved the deep freeze in Thunder Bay this past weekend to take part in the Ontario Cup race #2 at Lappe Ski Centre.
Daily temperatures hovered below -15, dipping to low -20s with wind chill, but that didn't stop the team from coming home with some great results.
Kate De Beer climbed to the podium spot with a third place finish in the under 18 girls skate sprint 1.2 km race. Xiaokang Cui earned two silver medals for his second place finishes in the under 14 boys interval start free and classic mass start 3.75 km races.
