The Pino's under-19 girls Sault Civic soccer club has advanced to Ontario Cup semi-final action in Markham on Aug. 25. The locals upended the home-field Scarborough Predators 2-1 in quarter-final play on Sunday to earn the semi-final berth. Melissa Ceglie and Brigitte Acton scored for the Sault. Acton's goal at the 60-minute mark was the game winner. The match was played in 36C heat in Scarborough and head coach Joe Ceglie said he made quick substitutions to keep his troops as fresh as possible. "The heat was a factor but I guess you can say we stayed cool," Ceglie told SooToday.com. Andrea Scornaienchi played goal for the locals in place of the vacationing Melissa Braido and did "a great job" according to Ceglie.
