SEARCHMONT -- The annual Wolfman Martin Classic Northern Ontario Division alpine ski event wrapped up here Sunday with the second Giant Slalom in as many days at Searchmont Resort.

SEARCHMONT -- The annual Wolfman Martin Classic Northern Ontario Division alpine ski event wrapped up here Sunday with the second Giant Slalom in as many days at Searchmont Resort.

Nearly sixty competitors overcame bitter cold to put in superb efforts, particularly the host Searchmont Ski Runners.

In the Kinder-1 Division, the host team claimed five of the six medals up for grabs. On the boy's side, Josh Dugas posted his fourth win in as many races with teammates Graeme Hutchison and George Payne placing second and third.

On the girl's side, Meghan DiAngelo captured her fourth gold medal of the weekend ahead of North Bay's Morgan Mantha. In the Kinder-2 group, Kaitlyn Fitzpatrick of the Searchmont team took the gold, her third of the weekend, ahead of Sudbury's Gillian Scott. Kylie Rains of the Sault was third.

In the boys, race Sudbury's David Ghent-Kyle won his fourth gold of the weekend ahead of Carson Bussiere of Timmins and the Sault's David Dutkiewicz. In the Mackenzie Division under 10 race, Searchmont's Iain Hutchison won the boys race ahead of teammate Devin Labelle. The Sault's Nicole Gignac won the girls race ahead of Audrey Grant of Timmins and Meaghan Horbatuk of the host team.

The overall weekend title went to Kayvon Fatemizadeh of the Sault while Alexandra Mantha of North Bay took the female honours.
