The Sault Steelers return to the Northern Football Conference will be a reality.
The 2018 NFC schedule is in place while the Steelers coaching staff has also been named.
The Steelers open the 2018 season on May 26 at home against the Tri-City Outlaws. The game will see the team honour former team president Don McBain, who passed away in September.
On Sunday, the team announced its coaching staff, which will see a familiar face as head coach.
Steelers mainstay Brandon Lewis will serve as head coach. Lewis is a former NFC most valuable player and earned defensive player of the year honours on a number of occasions. In his playing career, Lewis earned 20 all-star selections as well.
Ashton Young, a six-time all-star with the Steelers, will serve as the Steelers offensive coordinator while Joe Cond will be the Steelers defensive coordinator.
Steve McLeod has been named the special teams coordinator.
Barry Rushon will return as the Steelers president while Paul Caldbick steps in as the Steelers general manager.
The remainder of the Steelers staff includes Paul Simard (defensive positions coach), Seth Cond (director of player personnel), and Jonathon Bujold (marketing and recruiting).
