Sabercats sweep as OFC season winds down

Both sault Sabercats teams will return home with Ontario Football Conference wins

It was a good weekend for the Sault Sabercats at both the varsity and junior varsity levels in Ontario Football Conference action.

On the heels of a home loss to Waterloo on June 30, the varsity Sabercats picked up a convincing 53-14 win on the road over the Brampton Bulldogs on Saturday.

The win improves the varsity Sabercats record to 5-1-1 heading into the final week of regular season action.

The team remains tied atop the OFC’s West Division with Waterloo.

The Sabercats, Waterloo and Brantford Bisons all entered weekend action with 4-1-1 records. Results from Brantford’s game on Sunday evening against Hamilton was not available at the time of writing.

The Sabercats wrap up regular season action on July 13 against Hamilton on the road.

Waterloo faces Oakville next weekend while Brantford faces Chatham.

The JV Sabercats wrapped up the road portion of its regular season schedule on Sunday afternoon with a 36-17 win over Hamilton.

The win improves the Sabercats record to 6-0-1 heading into the final week of the regular season.

The JV team wraps up the regular season at home on July 13 against Sarnia.
