Rangers' Smith to miss Game 7 after 'inappropriate gesture'

Said gesture involved a finger

The Kitchener Rangers will play game seven of their Ontario Hockey League Western Conference final series without a key player.

Veteran forward Givani Smith has been suspended by the league after a review of an incident following Sunday’s sixth game in which Smith made “an inappropriate gesture” toward the Greyhounds bench following Kole Sherwood’s overtime winner.

Video of the offending gesture has been widely shared on social media.

Smith has been suspended for two games.

Game seven between the Rangers and Greyhounds is scheduled for tonight at the Essar Centre at 7:07 p.m.
