The cool of Queen Elizabeth Field didn't stop the scoring in Sault Minor Football Association play on Sunday afternoon. In tyke division play, Taylor Zalewski and Jared Theriault scored two touchdowns apiece as Rome's edged the Tin Grins 28-21. Brian Nanne had all three TDs in defeat. Meanwhile, Jason Piper had three TDs and Matt Wagner had two, offsetting three from Jacob Reed as Sports Gold trimmed Verdi Lodge 35-21. In bantam division, All Star Trophies bested Scholars Learning Centre 26-8 on touchdowns by Cody Marshall, who had two, Jason Amadio and Jordan Verdone. Gary Leith had the only major for Scholars. And Graham Imre had four TDs, while Darcy Rumbe rambled for two as Blueliners defeated Firefighters 42-26. Jonathan Mullin with three and John Widgett with one had the TDs for Firefighters.
