Perugini lights up women's hoops league

Jen Perugini, a U.S. division I star at Youngstown State University, netted 34 points to lead Sault This Week past Cambrian Mazda 78-33 in the Algoma Basketball Association's Primo Pizza Women's Summer Basketball League action on Thursday night.

Amanda Sicoly added 19 points for the winners while Jessica Stone scored 27 of Cambrian Mazda's 33 points.

In the other game, Pabst Blue Ribbon defeated Sault College 36-33 on the strength of Katie Hamilton's 14 points and Roseanne Gaudio's 10. Becky Methot with 10 points and Alicia Moon with eight led Sault College, which lost their first game of the season.

Action continues every Thursday beginning at 6 p.m. at Sault College.
