Former Greyhound Cory Pecker has signed a three-year contract with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, SooToday.com has learned. The 21-year old right winger scored 53 goals for the Ontario Hockey League Erie Otters this past season. He had played three-and-a-half-seasons with the Greyhounds before being obtained by Erie in a trade midway through the 2000-01 campaign for forwards Troy Ilijow and Patrick Lamesse. A one-time Hound first-rounder, Pecker was drafted by the Calgary Flames at the 1999 National Hockey League draft but was never offered a contract. He had a tryout with the St. Louis Blues last fall but was released and returned to Erie, where he led the Otters to the OHL championship. Pecker's contract with the NHL Mighty Ducks also includes a signing bonus of more than $200,000.
