OHL plans to continue through provincial orders

The Ontario Hockey League, via a statement issued Wednesday morning, has confirmed plans to play through recent orders issued by the provincial government. 

The statement goes on to say that the league is continuing to consult government and public health officials as part of the process.

The latest provincial orders went into effect at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday.

Following is the full statement from the OHL:

The Ontario Hockey League Board of Governors conducted a meeting this morning to address next steps in light of the recent order issued by the Government of Ontario taking effect today, Wednesday, Jan. 5.

The league has reaffirmed its commitment to continue the 2021-22 OHL season.

The OHL is currently in conversation with government and public health and will have further updates in this area in the very near future.
