The New Liskeard special teams provided the difference on Sunday with three power play goals and a shorthanded marker on North Stars' goalie Mike Maulucci, who continued a very strong season despite the setback. David Turco, Adam Combs and Chris Towell scored for the Stars, who lost for the first time at home this season. The locals will take a 21-9-4 record into the final weekend of the regular season, when they will play host to the Valley East Cobras (Saturday, 7 p.m.) and the first-place Sudbury Lockerby Nickel Capitals (Sunday, 1 p.m.) at John Rhodes Community Centre. Saturday, Turco had a goal and an assist and Dustin Curts contributed two helpers as the North Stars doubled the Cubs. Jeff Elliott, Cory Sewell and Jeff Elliot also scored for the North Stars. Maulucci posted the win.
