The Soo North Stars split a pair of Great North Midget Hockey League games on the weekend, winning Saturday in North Bay before losing Sunday in Sudbury. On Saturday, Adam Combs and Adam Kauppi scored twice apiece and Nick Tombari added three assists to support the goaltending of Travis O'Brien in a 4-2 North Stars' win over the North Bay Trappers.

On Sunday, goals by Combs and Michael Sharp weren't enough as the Soo lost 4-2 to the Sudbury Lockerby Capitals. Before leaving for the weekend road trip, members of the North Stars performed some community work locally by helping out with Christmas Cheer.
