The Soo North Stars rebounded from a poorly played game Saturday night to hammer the North Bay Trappers 11-2 on Sunday.

Despite securing a 5-2 win on Saturday, the North Stars were not happy with their performance against the Great North Midget League's basement dwellers.

On Sunday afternoon, the North Stars light up the Trappers for four goals in each of the first two periods en route to the win and sweep of the two-game series at the John Rhodes Community Centre.

With the win, the North Stars improve to 14-0-0-2 in the GNML and maintain a firm hold on first place. North Bay falls to 1-14-0-1.

Matt Caria led the North Stars attack with three goals and an assist. Zac Torquato and Michael D'Agostini scored a goal and three assists each while Paul Dupont and Adam Kauppi added a goal and two assists each.

Lucas Goodall, Michael Sharp and Frank D'Addetta scored a goal and added an assist each while Jake McClelland notched the other goal. Travis O'Brien made his second consecutive start in net for the North Stars and picked up the win.

The North Stars will now travel to Timmins for a GNML showdown with the second place Majors (11-3-0-2) next Saturday and Sunday.
