NORTH STARS NOW 2-1 AT STEEL CITY

The Soo North Stars now have a 2-1 record at the Steel City International Hockey Tournament following a 2-1 Saturday morning loss to the Capitol City Pride at the John Rhodes Community Centre.

The Soo North Stars now have a 2-1 record at the Steel City International Hockey Tournament following a 2-1 Saturday morning loss to the Capitol City Pride at the John Rhodes Community Centre. David Turco scored the only goal for the North Stars, his fourth of the tournament. Friday morning, Turco scored two goals as the North Stars -- competing in the AAA midget division -- upended Wisconsin 5-2. Chris Towell, Michael D'Agostini and Nick Tombari also scored for the Soo. Goalie Travis O'Brien posted the victory. On Thursday, Cory Sewell triggered two goals as the North Stars opened the tournament with a 4-1 win over the Colorado Arapahoe Ice Warriors. Sewell also added an assist, while Michael Sharp and Turco rounded out the North Star scoring in support of goalie Michael Maulucci.

The North Stars play again tonight, 8:30 p.m. against Shattuck St. Mary's at the Rhodes Centre.
