The North Stars padded their Great North Midget League leading record with a 3-2 win over the Sudbury Lockerby Nickel Capitals on Saturday and a 7-1 victory over the Rayside Balfour Jr. Sabrecats on Sunday.

On Saturday, Jake McClelland, Paul Dupont and Michael D'Agostini provided the scoring with a goal each.

On Sunday, Michael Sharp paced the attack with two goals and two assists while Zac Torquato added a goal and two assists and Matt D'Agostini record a goal and an assist. McClelland, call-up Nick Lang and Matt Caria scored once each while Kyle Rodgers added three assists.

The North Stars, with a 24-1-0-2 record and a 19 point first place lead, return to GNML play in the new year with a pair of games in North Bay against the Trappers on January 3rd and 4th.

Torquato and Michael D'Agostini are tied for third spot in the league scoring race with 49 points each. Both have recorded 17 goals and 32 assists in 27 games. Caria has scored 19 goals and 28 assists for 47 points.

Michael Maulucci leads the league in goaltending with a 1.94 goals-against-average while Travis O'Brien has lowered his average to 2.96 for third spot.
