North Stars fall in Gold Puck semi-final

The Soo North Stars run at the Waterloo Gold Puck Tournament came to abrupt on Sunday morning.

Facing the hometown Waterloo Wolves, the North Stars had their vaunted offense held in check as the locals fell 3-0 to the Wolves in the tournament semi-final.

The North Stars complete the tournament with a 4-1 record after scoring a pair of wins on Friday and Saturday.

In five games, the Soo held their opponents to just seven goals while the offense put up 19 goals in the four games they managed to score in.

The North Stars return to Great North Midget League action next weekend with a pair of games on the road. The Soo visits the Sudbury Lockerby Nickel Capitals on Saturday before meeting the Rayside Balfour Jr. Sabrecats on Sunday.
