Sault Ste. Marie’s Colin Miller will remain in Las Vegas for the foreseeable future.

The NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights announced on Saturday afternoon that the team has inked the 25-year-old blueliner to a four-year contract, worth $15.5 million, and avoids salary arbitration in the process.

The deal comes with an annual cap hit of $3.875 million.

Miller had a career-high 41 points in 82 games in 2017-18. With 10 goals and 31 assists, Miller led all Vegas defencemen in scoring. Miller also spent time on the power play with the Golden Knights, scoring five goals and 17 points on the man advantage.

Miller added three goals and seven points in 20 playoff games as the Golden Knights advanced to the Stanley Cup final before losing to the Washington Capitals.

Miller was selected by Vegas last summer in the NHL Expansion Draft after time with the Boston Bruins.

Miller spent three seasons with the Ontario Hockey League’s Soo Greyhounds. After his second season with the organization, Miller was selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the fifth round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

After scoring 20 goals and 55 points in 54 games in his final season with the Greyhounds in 2012-13, Miller joined the American League’s Manchester Monarchs the following season.

Miller was traded by the Kings in June 2015 to the Bruins in a trade that landed the Kings Milan Lucic.

In 195 career NHL games, Miller has 19 goals and 70 points.
