McCann selected by Vancouver; Perlini by Arizona (1:16 p.m. update)

McCann was the first Greyhound player selected in the two day event.

The first player with local ties of any kind was Niagara IceDogs forward, and Sault Ste. Marie native, Brendan Perlini, who was selected by the Arizona Coyotes with the 12 overall pick. Also selected was Guelhp Storm forward Robby Fabbri. The OHL's playoff MVP was selected by the St. Louis Blues on day one.

Greyhounds goaltender Brandon Halverson was selected by the New York Rangers with the second-last pick in the second round. The pick was the first for the Rangers in the draft.

The Los Angeles Kings used the final pick of the third round to select Sault Ste. Marie's Michael Amadio.

As the foruth round comes to a close, the Arizona Coyotes have selected Greyhounds forward Michael Bunting with pick 117.

Greyhounds defenceman Kyle Jenkins was selected in the seventh round by the Carolina Hurricanes.
