Korah picks up high school hockey wins

The Colts picked up wins over St. Mary's and CASS on opening weekend

The high school hockey season is underway locally.

All four teams played a pair of games over the weekend, including action on Sunday night.

In Sunday’s early game, Kyle Birch and Nathan Keranen had a goal and an assist each as Korah beat St. Mary’s 4-1.

Tyson Culina and Kaden Dudas also scored for Korah.

Samuel Lake had the lone goal for St. Mary’s.

In Sunday’s second game, Mason Mortimore had a goal and two assists as CASS beat Superior Heights 3-1.

Austin Mortimore and Michael Shaw also scored for CASS.

Cale Irwin had the lone goal for Superior Heights.

In Friday’s games, Korah got goals from Culina, Noah Case, and Connor Caruso in a 3-1 win over CASS.

Brayden Aubertin had the lone CASS goal.

Friday’s other game saw Superior Heights beat St. Mary’s 1-0.

Ethan West had the lone goal and Zach Tarantini had the shutout.

The high school hockey schedule continues on Nov. 8 when St. Mary’s faces CASS in a 7:30 p.m. puck drop at the John Rhodes Community Centre.
