JR. & SR. HOOP TITLES FOR ST. BASIL

The St. Basil Saints won a pair of girls high school basketball championships before a packed gymnasium at Korah on Saturday night. The juniors and seniors from St. Basil both kept unbeaten seasons intact.

The St. Basil Saints won a pair of girls high school basketball championships before a packed gymnasium at Korah on Saturday night. The juniors and seniors from St. Basil both kept unbeaten seasons intact. The juniors outscored the Korah Colts 54-46 while the seniors bested the three-time defending champion St. Mary's Knights 43-39. In junior, Rachel Cobean hit for 21 points and Samantha Rainone added 20 to lead St. Basil. Katrina Huopalainen led Korah with 19 and Liza Turpin added 13. In senior, Kaitlin DeBoer had a 19-point game to lead the Saints, while Jenna Caicco added 13. Erica Dechamps with 16 points and Lauren Pekalski with 13 led the Knights.
