Jacobs off to playoff round

Brad Jacobs is set for playoff action at the Shorty Jenkins Classic in Cornwall, Ont.

The Jacobs rink, which includes third Marc Kennedy, second E.J. Harnden, and lead Ryan Harnden, will play in the tournament quarterfinal on Sunday morning at 9 a.m.

Jacobs wrapped up round robin action on Saturday with a 6-2 win over Michael Fournier of Quebec.

After giving up a steal of one in the opening end, Jacobs scored three in the second end to take the lead.

The Sault Ste. Marie-based rink proceeded to pick up steals of one in the following three ends to take a commanding lead.

Fournier capped off the scoring with a single in the sixth end.

The quarterfinal is set to begin at 9 a.m. Jacobs’ opponent had yet to be determined at the time of writing.

The tournament final is set for 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
