The Jacobs rink lost to Matt Dunstone in the quarterfinal of the Masters

After going 3-1 in the round robin, Team Jacobs was eliminated at the Masters on Saturday afternoon.

The Jacobs rink, which includes third Marc Kennedy, second E.J. Harnden, and lead Ryan Harnden, dropped a 5-2 decision in the quarterfinal against Matt Dunstone of Regina, ending Jacobs’ run at the first Grand Slam of Curling event of the season, which wraps up on Sunday in North Bay.

After falling behind in the third end, Jacobs took a 2-1 lead with a pair in the fourth.

Dunstone retook the lead in the fifth end with a pair before sealing the win with steals of one each in the subsequent two ends.

The Masters field is comprised of 15 men’s and 15 women’s teams that are split into three pools of five teams each.

The top eight teams on each side qualify for quarterfinal action, which is set for Saturday afternoon.
