It was a disappointing finish for Brad Jacobs and his team from the Community First Curling Centre locally at the Elite 10 in Winnipeg this week.

The Jacobs rink, which includes third Ryan Fry, second E.J. Harnden and lead Ryan Harnden lost on Saturday in quarter-final action to Glenn Howard at the match-play event, the latest Grand Slam of Curling tournament.

Howard beat Jacobs 2 & 1 to advance before losing in the semifinal to Winnipeg’s Mike McEwen.

McEwen will meet Brad Gushue (St. John’s, Nfld.) in the tournament final on Sunday after Gushue picked up a semifinal win over Kevin Koe of Calgary.
