WINDSOR -- The Soo Greyhounds were outshot and outscored here Sunday before 2,770 fans at Windsor Arena. Despite being outshot 51-29, the Soo was in it until 13:26 of the third period when Craig Kennedy scored for the second time in the game to give Windsor a 7-6 lead. Then, at 17:23, Kyle Wellwood scored to give the Spitfires an 8-6 lead and end any hope of a Soo comeback. The Greyhounds trailed 6-3 late in the second period only to tie the game 6-6 on a goal by Tyler Dutchyshen at 8:38 of the third. Jeff Carter and Sean Stefanski scored twice to spark the Soo. Matt Herneisen scored the other goal for the Soo and goalie Adam Munro made 43 saves. "They came back on us and played us tough but we kept getting quality shots on goal and Munro couldn't hold the fort forever," said Windsor coach Tom Webster. The Greyhounds showed a lot of hustle and determination but their work in their own end of the rink left much to be desired. The loss was the second in a row for the Greyhounds after four wins in a row. Next action for the Greyhounds is on Wednesday at the Soo when they are home to the lowly Sudbury Wolves.
