SAGINAW, Mich. -- A seven-game road trip is off to a losing start for the Soo Greyhounds. After losing 7-3 in Sarnia to the Sting on Thursday, the Greyhounds were drubbed 6-2 by the lowly Saginaw Spirit before a crowd of 4,520 here Friday.

After losing 7-3 in Sarnia to the Sting on Thursday, the Greyhounds were drubbed 6-2 by the lowly Saginaw Spirit before a crowd of 4,520 here Friday. The Soo took a 1-0 lead after the first period before Saginaw's overage centre Peter Flache took over by rifling a hat trick. Saginaw outshot the Soo 32-21 as Greyhounds goalie Adam Munro and most of his teammates with the exception of wingers Matt Herneisen and Jeff Larsh did not play well at all. Both Herneisen and Larsh had a goal and an assist apiece for the Soo. The Greyhounds remain tied for the eighth and final playoff spot in the OHL's Western Conference with the Owen Sound Attack. Owen Sound lost to the London Knights 4-2 on Friday night.
