High School Sports Wrap: Wolverines host Colts as exam break draws near

High school sports action saw basketball and volleyball take the forefront on Tuesday night

Action in boys high school basketball continued on Tuesday night as Superior Heights hosted St. Mary’s.

In the junior game, Max Delorenzi had 16 points as St. Mary’s picked up a 60-25 victory. Kyle Dudezki had 10 points for Superior Heights.

In senior action, Dalton Toppan and Cole Evans had 11 points each as St. Mary’s scored a 54-36 victory. Jackson Coneybeare of Superior Heights led all scorers in the game with 16 points.

Action continues on Wednesday night at White Pines as the Wolverines host Korah. The Colts then face St. Mary’s at St. Mary’s on Thursday night in the last set of games ahead of the high school exam period. The schedule will resume on Feb. 7. Tipoff for the junior games is set for 6 p.m. with the senior games to follow at 7:30 p.m.

Girls volleyball action also continued on Tuesday night at both the junior and senior levels.

In junior action Superior Heights beat White Pines in straight sets (25-17 and 25-16) while Korah also used straight sets to beat Notre Dame (25-12 and 25-18).

In senior action, Superior Heights beat White Pines in four sets (9-25, 25-20, 25-16 and 25-17). Korah beat Notre Dame in three sets 25-10, 25-7 and 25-21).
