Greyhounds midget team picks up two wins

A weekend of three games in three days saw the Soo Greyhounds AAA midget team pick up a pair of victories

A three-game road trip over the weekend saw the Great North Midget League’s Soo Greyhounds return home with a pair of victories.

On Friday night, the Greyhounds skated to a 6-2 win over the New Liskeard Cubs. The Greyhounds got goals from six different players in the win. Camaryn Baber had a goal and an assist while Tristan Cicchello and Kelly Quevillon assisted on two goals each for the Greyhounds. Noah Boman, Caleb Wood, Lucas Theriault, Nolan Ford and Parker Morgan also scored for the Greyhounds.

Jordan Legros and Kean Chartrand scored for New Liskeard.

On Saturday evening, Samuel Bourdages scored 49 seconds into overtime as the Kapuskasing Flyers beat the Greyhounds 3-2. Bourdages scored all three goals for the Flyers.

Quevillon and Nik Gervasi scored for the Greyhounds

On Sunday afternoon, Gervasi scored a pair of goals as the Greyhounds wrapped up the weekend with a 7-3 win over the Timmins Majors. Dale Armstrong had a goal and two assists while Theriault and Jesse Soltys chipped in with a goal and an assist. Wood and Boman also scored for the Greyhounds.

Evan Kentish-Stack had a goal and an assist for Timmins. Cameron Chisolm assisted on two Timmins goals. Riley Robitaille and Riley Brousseau also scored for Timmins.

The Greyhounds return to GNML action on Dec. 16 at home against the North Bay Trappers in the opener of a three-game weekend series. Puck drop at the John Rhodes Community Centre is set for 8 p.m.
