Sault Ste. Marie’s Mac Marcoux won Canada’s first gold medal at the 2018 Paralympic Games on Friday in PyeongChang, South Korea.

The 20-year-old won the visually impaired downhill race alongside guide Jack Leitch.

The two-time Paralympian finished the course in a time of 1:23.93.
