The Soo Greyhounds begin their first road trip of 2013 on Thursday night when they take on the Ottawa 67’s.

The game marks the second of two meetings between the two clubs. The 67’s won the previous matchup, a 6-1 victory at the Essar Centre on Nov. 2.

Tyler Graovac had a pair of goals for the 67’s in the previous meeting while Jake Cardwell had a goal and an assist. Matt Fuller had the lone Greyhounds goal in the loss.

The 67’s enter action with just 11 wins in 39 contests and are coming off a split of a home-and-home series with the Kingston Frontenacs that saw the 67’s recover from a 7-5 loss on New Years’ Eve to beat the Frontenacs 4-3 on New Years’ Day.

The Greyhounds enter action on Thursday night having won six of their last eight games but have struggled away from home with both of the losses coming away from the cozy confines of the Essar Centre. In fact, since Dec. 1, the Greyhounds are 5-1 at home but sport just a 1-3 record on the road that includes losses to Windsor, Sarnia and Sudbury.

The Greyhounds will see a familiar face as well in meeting up with the 67’s as former Greyhound Alex Morgan. The 18-year-old forward was dealt to the 67’s on Dec. 5 in a trade that saw the Greyhounds acquire prospect Patrick Wojenski and a conditional draft pick from Ottawa.

Thursday’s game opens a three-game East Division road trip that will take the Greyhounds to Belleville on Saturday night before they wrap up the trip on Sunday afternoon in Kingston.

The OHL schedule features three other games on Thursday night, including Oshawa at Brampton, Barrie at Niagara and Belleville at Peterborough.
