Eight Hound picks off to Under 17 camp

Eight of the 14 Soo Greyhound draft picks from May's Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection have been invited to the Under 17 Provincial Selection Camp.

Eight of the 14 Soo Greyhound draft picks from May's Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection have been invited to the Under 17 Provincial Selection Camp.

The group will be among 100 players that converge on the campus of York University in Toronto for the five day camp beginning Friday.

First round draft pick Chris Lawrence along with second rounders Matt Leszczynski and David Jarram head the list of potential Greyhounds off to York. Third round pick Brandon MacLean, fourth Kyle Gajewski, fifth Adam Kneale, eighth Sean Smyth and ninth round selection Tyler McKinley have also been selected to try out.

The eventual Team Ontario squad will play in the 2004 International World Hockey Challenge in St. John's, Newfoundland beginning Dec. 27.

Bob Jones will serve as the team's head coach and will be assisted by Jason Nobili and Peter Sidorkiewicz. Allan Millar is the team's director of operations.
